Here is a list of government funding available.

Alberta Health Services (AHS): AHS provides a wide range of free, publicly funded addiction and mental health services. You can connect with professionals, clinics, and programs in your area by calling Health Link at 811.

AISH & Income Support: If you are registered for Assured Income for the Severely Handicapped (AISH) or Income Support, you may qualify for additional financial assistance or specialized casework to cover essential living and medical needs.

Family Support for Children with Disabilities (FSCD): The FSCD program is based on the Family Support for Children with Disabilities Act (FSCD Act) and the FSCD Regulation. We work in partnership with eligible families of children with disabilities to help parents: – with supports and services to raise your child and promote their healthy development – encourage your child to take part in activities at home and in community – maintain guardianship, responsibility for decision-making and usual expenses to raise a child until they are 18 years old – with some of the extraordinary costs related to your child’s disability

Non-Insured Health Benefits (NHIB): To be eligible, a client must be a resident of Canada, and one of the following: – a First Nations person who is registered under the Indian Act, commonly referred to as a person who holds Indian status – an Inuk recognized by one of the Inuit land claim organizations as outlined in Inuit client eligibility for NIHB – a child less than 2 years old, whose parent is an NIHB-eligible client – to make sure that a child continues to be eligible for the program, parents or guardians should apply as soon as possible for their child’s Indian status or recognition from their Inuit land claim organization

Jordan’s Principle: There is no fee for First Nations children to access Jordan’s Principle. Regional focal points and service coordinators will help you submit a request for free.

Autism Canada Community Assistance Program (CAP): Autism Canada’s Community Assistance Program, CAP, provides subsidized financial support to reduce barriers to care for Autistic people across their lifespan, including children, youth, and adults, as well as the families and caregivers who support them. CAP is available to Autistic people and families across Canada, regardless of province or territory, subject to provider availability and program funding.

Breaking Free Foundation: Our grants are only approved for use with trauma therapists in Alberta. Any trauma-informed therapy whether it’s psychology, EMDR, equine therapy, art therapy or whatever is calling to you, can be supported through our grant. The only stipulation, is that therapists are subject to approval by Breaking Free.
